Linh is a fourth year from an island off of Redthorn. Raised by fairies, she applied to Del Sol's anthropology department to document fairy culture in the area. Her friendly and talkative personality make her popular among the students and ground staff, but her disinterest in doing necessary paperwork makes her less popular among administration.

How exactly Linh wound up a sea away from mainland Redthorn is unknown, but the fairies whose island she washed up on theorize a shipwreck brought her to them when she was barely learning to walk. The queen adopted her readily, and together with her fairy brother Te, who was born the same day she arrived, she explored the island and its surrounding shallows throughout her childhood. While she was more than happy to remain on the island forever, several of the island's fairy and mer residents brought her to Redthorn's mainland on occasion to both expose her to the outside world and look for any possible clues into her remaining human family.
Her "schooling" on the island was less an academic endeavor and more one focused on practical skills. Her motive in applying to Del Sol for her fourth year project had very little to do with any real sense of academic obligation and everything to do with several aunties on the island having friends in the area they knew could take care of her should anything happen. As such, despite her research proposal following no known academic writing convention and the contents largely consisting of lengthy tangents about unrelated topics, Del Sol College's admission department found itself overridden by the anthropology department head, who saw a chance for the school to make a name for itself (read: receive better grants) in formally researching isolated fairy communities.
Linh's excitement in exploring a new school with new people only grew as she discovered the school's emphasis on plant sciences, much to the chagrin of the professor she was doing research under. Much of her time on campus was spent breaking into sections of the greenhouses forbidden to anyone but professors and high-level alchemy and phytology students. Now, if only she can figure out what's going on in the head of that guy in the plant and wildlife sciences department who doesn't seem to know what a plant is...
