Lin Luoxia (林落霞, Lín Luòxiá [pinyin], Lìm Lo̍khà [pfs]) is a virologist from Taiwan. Despite her best efforts, she keeps getting involved with stupid ghost happenings.

Born and raised in Miaoli, Luoxia eventually moved to Japan with her sister Luoye to pursue her post-graduate studies in virology. Following her sister's death, she married ghost hunter Soejima Daisuke and eventually had Denji and Rie with him. Their relationship quickly soured due to his treatment of the children (including Rui, who he'd fathered with Luoye), eventually culminating in her initiating divorce proceedings. Unfortunately, due to his connections, he won custody of Rui and Denji and left her to raise Rie alone.
She returned to the virology lab. Around the time Daichi awakened, the lab gained a recent graduate named Xun. They bonded over their shared cultural background, and Luoxia easily regarded him as a sort of surrogate son, which he did not know what to do with. Outside of work, she met one Mr. Eguchi and seriously courted him until getting engaged during Rie's third year of high school.
Despite winter holidays rapidly approaching, Rie chose to move in with the Eguchis in early December. Luoxia let her, but in the midst of negotiating work accomodations for her move, received a call that Rie was in the ER...
As she was born in Taiwan, Luoxia's name 林落霞 is officially read Lín Luòxiá and rendered リン・ルォシャ (Rin Ruoshya) in Japanese. She is Hakka, and her name is pronounced Lìm Lo̍kha in Hakka.
